21-8-07.................Tuesday

We collected our birds today, it was quite a drive for them it took 3 hours to get home, they seemed to travel quite well, but you still worry dont you.

We put them straight into the inside part of the aviary and left them alone for the night.

22-8-07..................Wednesday

We were awoken quite early by them,it must have been around 6 ish, they sound like a flock of seagulls quite funny, they didnt stop eating for 3 and a half hours, they spent most of the day outside,it was fairly sunny so they sat in their climbing tree for the most part preening, they are quite friendly considering and let you get fairly close before they take flight, anyway, they seem to have settled ok the male keeps displaying to the greys,very funny bless him

23-08-07......................Thursday

Ok,after spending the last 2 days watching the nest box camera, we were quite annoyed when we turned channel and realised they had been inside and we had missed it, so we spent the rest of the day glued to the tv, .nothing......how annoying they spent all day again outside whistling and chirping.....then we noticed them venture on the floor, and we caught our first glimpse of the caique hop lol, what a sight, really starting to notice their little personalities coming out now, eating lots and starting to explore their toys, still been displaying to the greys although not so much

24-08-07.......................Friday

More of the same again today, lots of playing and eating...and today we missed it all again lots of moved around nest box substrate and again we missed it, really getting frustrated now lol

25-08-07...............Saturday

Its getting hard to get inside the flight now, they are just getting so used to us they just sit by the door, its like they are waiting for us, they are getting into a routine now, and starting to get used to daily life in our house, hanging out washing, the dogs,even mowed the grass and didnt worry, they really are great, and yes you guessed it, in the nest box, yes we missed it again.

26-08-07............Sunday

Right,now we have just remembered we have picture in picture on our tv......we'll catch the little buggers now lol.........and we did.........they spent most of the day in their infact, scratching around and preening each other, i feel much better now i know they are comfortable enough to stay in their, in fact they slept in their so am now overjoyed

27-08-07.......Monday

Today was a day that i just couldnt take my eyes of the nestbox cam........they appear to be showing all the signs of courtship.......surely not.after 6 days????
it started with a mornings worth of bickering......then followed by lots of preening,
then the male started to regurgitate for the hen..lots more preening..more feeding....then the male kept forcing himself under the hen, then at the end of the day they roosted with their tails crossed????/hmmm something to think about

28-08-07............Tuesday

Today has been pretty much the same as yesterday, most of it in the nestbox, mostly courting?????????????
anyway today they have been with us for 1 week wohoooo..............heres some video inside the nestbox
