Safe natural wood branches for making perches for your birds include the following:
Apple
Arbutus
Ash
Aspen
Beech
Birch
Cottonwood
Crabapple
Dogwood
Elm
Fir

Hawthorn
Larch
Magnolia
Manzanita
Mulberry
Pear
Pine
Poplar
Sequoia (redwood)
Willow

NEVER use apricot, cherry, peach, prune, plum or nectarine wood. These trees all belong to the Prunus species. They contain cyanogenic glycosides which release cyanide if ingested.
Unsafe Toxic Plants
Plants which are listed as poisonous towards humans and animals
should be considered potentially toxic to your bird. Some avian
species, however, have reportedly died from ingesting a toxic
plant, while others have experienced no untoward effects. The
following plants should all be considered potentially toxic to birds:
