Moving House, Trials and tribulations of a cage move!

Hi y'all Jasper here. Boy I've had a busy few days, I can't tell you how exciting it has all been. I've moved house, so I thought I'd better let you have my new address. Now let me see.....

Ah, there it is. My new address is Big Cage, Sitting Room, Through Hall, After White Door, Step Dads, BHC1 2NH. Man, I'm good. I remembered that really well. I had an adventure the day I moved in. My new house hadn't been prepared properly so I had to wait outside on what they called a red chair. I don't really know what it was, but it made me look really good!

Anyway, my new home is really cool, there's lots of bars and I can see everything really easily. I did have a little embarrassment though! I thought I'd explore everything before anyone could stop me. I climbed up really high, but then I started feeling a little dizzy after I looked down and next thing you know - SPLAT! I fell off and landed in a heap at the bottom of my new cage. Huh, the indignity!!! All my step dad could do was laugh at me and then tell me I'd soon get used to it and that I'd be alright. Well, I guess he was right, but I did feel a little silly after that!

Anyway, my Dad took another picture of me just after - you can tell that it was just after as I look a little bashful

Anyway Dad took pity on me, as I looked so crestfallen after my tumble and took another picture - I look so much better here, and, if I do say so myself - SOOOO HANDSOME

    See y'all soon. Jasper xxxx

    A word from David

Boy is Jasper so full of himself eh? Well, he has settled down well in his new home and after a few escapades at the top of his cage and of course rapidly down the bottom of his cage, he has finally gotten used to clambering around. As he gets older and more experienced these little incidents will happen less and less, especially as his claw muscles get stronger.

Jasper is eating a lot better and is busily tucking into fruit, some seeds and my fingers! It is a little difficult to tell whether he is actually yet eating all the fruit and seeds or whether he is just sucking the juice and middles out. He is still being handfed to make sure that he gets the correct blend of nutrients and that his little crop remains well stocked!

He stands on the edge of his bed - which is still in his cage, calling out when he wants feeding or when he wants a fuss. He loves to have his head tickled!

I must just share these next two pictures with you - as they really do show his character. The first one shows Jasper having a great game on the floor. Jasper took great delight chasing his own shadow - he couldn't work out why it kept on moving. Alas, he never quite managed to catch it

The final picture in todays post shows just how affectionate and comfortable he is with us - Jasper is actually sitting in a pocket of a padded waistcoat that is being worn! He had a tour around the house in it and got so comfortable that he eventually fell asleep. We have to be careful we don't forget he is there and sit down.

We're getting ever nearer now to the weaning stage, although it won't be imminent. Jasper is having an outing though this weekend as my breeder friend fancies a night out and is bringing him round to visit in his portable cage. It will give him a good chance to meet Murphy and Lilly (the greys) and Bella our greyhound. We're looking forward to it and will post more updates at the weekend.
